What to expect when cleaning rugs?

Rugs are made of fibres that retain some of the dirt, dust and spills from its surface. While routinely vacuuming your rug is always a good idea, a professional cleaning company will deep clean your rug, eliminating particles from below the surface.

Moreover, professionals use special equipment for every type of rugs because we know the specifics of all the fabrics.

How often should I clean my rugs?

Cleaning rugs regularly is important for your health. The frequency at which you should consider hiring professional cleaning services depends on the type of rug, number of occupants in the household, pets, smokers, children and the location.

We recommend cleaning your rug once in every 12 to 24 months.

Is A Advanced Rug Care cleaning process safe for my rug?

Absolutely. A Advanced Rug Care specializes in cleaning, repairing and protecting your rugs.

We work with the same care and attention with every single rug, which made us one of the top cleaning companies in the area.

When handling a rug, we utilize an 11 step cleaning process, that includes: inspection, sry soil removal, color testing, fringe cleaning, shampoo, rinsing, grooming, drying, post inspection, vacuum rug, roll or fold (for delivery or pickup).

Can some rug cleaning methods actually damage my rug?

While primarily rugs serve as a practical tool to cover the surface of the floor, rugs are also an important piece of decor. Rugs made of wool, silk or cotton, oriental rugs or faux rugs all require a different cleaning method.  If attended inappropriately, rugs can be damaged. We recommend contacting an expert and reading our blog for learning more about rug care.

Do you use children-friendly and pet-friendly products?

Our pre-spray is a certified green product, that is neutral on the pH scale, and has oxygen infused to help burn out stubborn stains and spills. Regardless of the product we use, we thoroughly rinse out all of it so that nothing remains on the carpet, making it as safe as possible for children and pets.

Is it best to replace or repair the rug?

There are many different types of rugs, and depending on the severity of the damage of the rug, you might need to either repair or fully replace your rug. In short, we would suggest repairing the rug in cases of burns, set-in stains, high-traffic area signs of wear.

Replacing your rug is not always a good idea, and definitely expect to pay more. We recommend contacting a professional cleaning company to inspect your rug before making a decision.

How long will it take for my rug to dry completely?

We normally clean rugs at our facilities, and return the rugs already dry. If we come to your location and perform a rug cleaning on-site, rugs will typically need around 12 hours to dry. This may vary depending on material (wool tends to hold more moisture, therefore it takes a bit longer to dry).

Why is it recommended to have your rugs cleaned regularly?

Rugs are often the source of disturbing and hidden allergies. This occurs due to the fact that rugs serve as home air filters. They often trap dirt, allergens and bacteria that ultimately is released into the air that the occupants breathe.

On top of that, oriental rugs usually receive a lot of traffic. Which means that sooner or later the rug will start to show signs of wear. A professional cleaning is recommended because it both cleans the rug and gives it a fresher look.

Why hire a professional when I can do it myself?

Whereas a maintenance cleaning of the rugs is always welcome, every so often a rug needs to be deeply cleaned by experts. A professional will know the right method of cleaning a rug without damaging it.

There are many types of rugs (oriental, Persian, leather, etc.) and each of them requires a different technique and machinery. For instance, synthetic rugs are more durable and can withstand cleaning by the owner in most cases. Natural fiber rugs should only be cleaned by trained professionals with proper equipment and products.

Professionals are also trained to use sophisticated machinery and detergents that are made to improve your rug’s condition.

Do you offer protector or stain guard for rugs?

We offer the Wool Safe Scotchguard protection, which coats the fibers with an invisible barrier and typically lasts up to 24 months. Or we offer Microseal, a lifetime sealer that uses nanotechnology to penetrate the rug and protects from the inside out (Microseal also provides a lifetime food and beverage stain warranty).

Our professional cleaning services cover all sorts of rugs, including Persian, Wool, Chinese, Pakistani, Egyptian, cotton, silk, animal skin rugs – you name it. We always have a different approach to every particular situation after inspection.
